Hurricane Dolly roared into Texas on July 23rd 2008 with sustained winds of 100mph causing $1.2 Billion in damages. Some areas near the coast received up to 16 inches of rain causing massive power outages and flooding. Dolly was the 3rd most powerful hurricane in the month of July in recorded history and the most powerful since Wilma in 2005.
We arrived in McAllen, TX on the evening of July 26th and began work on the 28th to aid the local ServiceMaster Clean Office's restoration efforts. We found that many homes had been flooded due to roof leaks caused by falling tree limbs, wind, and heavy rain. The climate in Texas didn't aid the situation because of the rapid growth of mold and other contaminates. Using top of the line drying equipment and remediation tecniques we returned many homes to liveable conditions and prepared them for the reconstruction process.
